CNA Turin is strongly devoted since 2008 in the promotion of design and of creativity of the artisans companies and small industry of the Metropolitan city of Turin, as distinctive element of the real made in Italy in the world. With this objective, CNA Turin in 2008 asked to join ADI Association for the Industrial Draw, becoming the first Association of Italian companies recorded, adhesion which continues to this days without interruption.
Since 2009, after successfully participated at the working tables of Turin 2008 World Design Capital and had concretely involved small companies and emerging designer, CNA Turin started a project for the promotion of the made in Italy through two distinct collective brands: Slow fashion (2009), meant to the companies of the clothing-footwear-accessories sectors that entirely produce in Italy (law 199/2008); I Love IT (2011), meant to the companies of the most representative sectors of the Italian style as food, fashion and furniture, without the constraint of the 100% Italy.
Starting from November 2015, CNA Turin participates with its own representatives at the Design Table set up by the City of Turin within the Culture Department followed by the nomination of Turin as Unesco Creative City and since then concretely contributes to develop initiatives for the self-produced design and more in general of the Italian style with a strong attention to the most innovative companies.
In particular, through the brand I Love IT they have already been set up two important exhibitions part of the calendar of Turin Design of the City, one during 2015 in the San Federico Gallery in the city center of Turin (I Love IT – The Gallery of the Wonders, the Temple of the Contemporary Design) and one during 2017 at the Museum of the sign and of the writing of the Aurora manufacture (I Love IT – In the sign of Design).
With the same finality, CNA Turin is one of the founding members of the Circle of Design of Turin (2015).
Starting from this experience, CNA Turin will make this year the project from the title “Enhancement of the Italian style expression of craftsmanship and SMEs” which will result in a prestigious design exhibition from the emblematic title, “I Love IT – Design for Heritage”: it is an exhibition of excellent craftsmanship products under the open brand to designer and fashion designer representing the leading sectors of the Italian manufactory (clothing, jewelry, bijoux, furniture).
The exhibition will be inaugurated on October 10th, within the official calendar of the events of Turin Design of the City 2018 which, on decision of the Table Design, will be entirely dedicated at the European year of the cultural heritage.
Technically, it is an exhibition of excellent craftsmanship products of the furnishing and furnishing accessories, lighting, clothing-accessories sectors, aimed at witnessing the evolution of the “homo faber species”. Artistic craftsmanship, design and innovation, dexterity and technology, a tangible and intangible heritage (product and know how to do), they meet to reveal that great Italian beauty of which the hands and the head of the artisans are the true authors. Often handed down in the shop and jealously guarded, the craftsmanship know-how represents an inestimable cultural heritage to be transmitted to the new generations and to be evolved to the highest creative and technological degree.
The exhibition is divided into thematic sections and within each section it intends to represent the roots and the future of every job and/or product: the restored antique furniture and the design furniture, the traditional tailoring and the unstructured dress which responds to the most modern dress trends, the nineteenth-century chandelier and the design led lamp.
